Apache Junction is located in the state of Arizona and a city in Maricopa and Pinal counties. The majority of the residents in the city live in Pinal County. The city was named after the Apache Trail and Old West Highway junction. The Superstition Mountain is the easternmost peak of the Superstition Mountains that are located nearby the area. It sits on an intersection that is on an unpaved stagecoach trail that is nearby the Superstition Mountains. The area became a historical landmark and a beautiful scenery byway that was offered to the public in 1922. At present, Apache Junction is part of a 120-mile long “circle trail that begins and ends in the city.
