Surprise, Arizona Houses for Sale

Surprise is located in the state of Arizona and a city in Maricopa County. The area where the present-day Surprise was founded in 1938 by Flora Mae Statler, who named the area Surprise for she “would be surprised if the town ever amounted to much.” The officials had previously thought that the city was founded by the former’s husband, who was a real estate developer and a state legislator - Homer C. Ludden, however, the recent records shown in 2010, it was discovered which listed Statler who owned the land even before she met Ludden. There were a few houses and a gas station that was established in the area when it was subdivided in order to build inexpensive homes for agricultural workers.
