Bentonville is located in the state of Arkansas and a city and seat of Benton County. The city is situated centrally in the county with Rogers in the adjacent to the east. Walmart was born here and the retail store’s world headquarters. It is one of the main cities that is part of the Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Area. The area where the present-day Bentonville stands was first known to be the hunting grounds by the Osage Nation who inhabited and lived in Missouri. The Osage was said to leave their settlement and would hunt in the area within the present-day Benton County for a couple of months a time before they will return to their families. The white settlers started to arrive in 1837 and called the area originally as Osage. And by the time the settlers permanently established their settlements, the Osage had ceased from using the area for their hunting, and the settlers started to develop and cultivate the area into farm lands.
