Conway is located in the central part of the state of Arkansas and a city and seat of Faulkner County and is situated in the northern part of Little Rock. The city is a community primarily of educational institutions, as it is the home to a number of institutions such as the University of Central Arkansas and Central Baptist College. The famous Arkansas Children's Colony that is dedicated to the mentally disabled is also in the city. Conway was founded by a family that moved in the 1800s to Arkansas in the early part of the 1800s. The city's economy was based mainly on the schools that were established and regional agriculture. The manufacturing industry of Conway started after the end of World War II and was then fostered with the establishment of an industrial park in the city.
