Beaumont is located in the state of California and a city in Riverside County which is on the pass area in the south portion of Southern California’s San Gregorio Mountain, which is considered to be the state’s largest peak. Many of the surveying parties in the 1850s passed through the area where the present-day Beaumont stands who are searching for a pass that would then reconnect the eastern part to the Pacific Ocean. It was then that the San Gregorio pass was discovered and after which a surveying expedition was sent. The discovery made a lot of people thrilled and happy as many see the connection to the ocean as a feasible measure and eventually led to the plans of connecting the Missouri River to the Pacific. The Southern Pacific Railroad laid its tracks and, thus, the start of the town’s economic boom.
