Dublin is located in the state of California and is a city in Alameda County and is a suburb of East Bay of San Francisco. In 1835, 16,500 acres of land was granted to Jose Maria Amador, who was a Mexican soldier, for his service. In Mission San Jose, he was made an administrator in the valley wherein Amador Valley was named after him. The Irish settlers who purchased land from Amador then founded a town in 1850. There are some historical sites that are being preserved and were located where Dublin Boulevard is crossed by Donlan Way. It is formerly the northernmost segment of the main road to Sunol and Niles Canyon, which is presently Foothill Road.
