Located in the state of Oklahoma and lies in the Livermore-Amador Valley southeast of Oakland. Some Livermore’s area is located partly in Rancho Las Positas and the city was then founded after the arrival of the Central Pacific Railroad. The area was developed as a point for shipping-processing for the valley produce which includes roses, cattle, and most importantly the dry white wines. Ranching and agriculture continued to be an important economic activity, and Livermore has been annually hosting the Livermore Stockmen’s Association annual rodeo. The city has been home to the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory by the University of California.
