Monrovia is located in the state of California and a city in Los Angeles County. It sits on the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and lies along the San Gabriel Valley. The city has been widely used in filming movies, commercials, and TV shows. It is considered to be the fourth-largest general-law city that is located in Los Angeles County and is in the Los Angeles Basin. The community has grown over the years from being a community that grows oranges sparsely to becoming a residential community that has over 37,000 residents. The area where the present-day Monrovia stands were inhabited by the Shoshonean-speaking Indians that were named Tongva and has established their settlements in what is now the San Gabriel VaLLeys.
