Oakley is located in the state of California and a city in Contra Costa County. It sits within San Francisco Bay Area’s nine-county. Oakley was originally part of the East Contra Costa Bicycle Plan, wherein it has existing facilities in Oakley as well as for further expansion. The archaeologists have found the prehistoric sites that are within the Oakley Area. There was one substantial shell mound that was discovered nearby what is now known to be the edge of the town in the early part of the 20th century. The Northwest Information Center of the California Historical Resources Information System now keeps track of the archaeological finds that were undertaken in Oakley, and that there are around three-dozen of other projects of the same that were completed over the last 25 years. The city is dotted with school and neighborhood parks such as Claremont Bay Park, Civic Center Park, and Creekside Park, all of which are popular for family outings, block parties, educational activities, and youth sport leagues. In addition to the parks, there’s also a city museum, four theater groups including the Pittsburg Community Theatre, and the well-stocked Oakley Library. Upon graduating from Oakley’s school district, students have the option to continue their education at the Los Medanos College. The closest major airport is the Stockton Metropolitan Airport. Oakley perfectly blends the slow pace of a small town, with the conveniences of a metropolitan, making it an excellent place to live in California.
