Placentia is located in the state of California and a city in the northern part of Orange County. Placentia is where the county's lifeblood, Valencia Orange, took hold. Like most of the town within the Orange County, Placentia has turned from being an agricultural area wherein the residents are working on their land to becoming a bedroom community where most of its residents will leave the city to work. There are a few vestiges, such as the small orange groves that can be seen scattered all over the city. It was said that the wife of William Mc Fadden's, who was one of the town's earliest settlers, wife Sarah Jane McFadden named the city in 1879 Placentia. However, no one is sure as to how she was able to come up with it. There are already several towns that are named Placentia, and it includes the one in Newfoundland in Canada, in Maine, and another one in Rome.
