San Jacinto is located in the state of California and is a city in Riverside County. The city was named after Saint Hyacinth and is situated in San Jacinto Valley’s northern end, with Hemer bordering the south and Beaumont in the north. The San Jacinto Mountains are the mountains that are mainly associated with the valley. San Jacinto is one of the oldest cities in Riverside County, which was founded in 1870 and was incorporated the year after. It is home to San Jacinto College, founded in 1965 as a community college. The city will soon be the home of Mid County Parkway, which is a planned route that would connect San Jacinto to Perris. The city is home to a gaming casino that is operated and owned by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians - the Soboba Casino. They are a community that is sovereign and self-sufficient in their own affairs. They also opened the Noli Academy, an Indian tribal school.
