Located in Santa Clara Country and a city that is approximately close to San Jose, California's Silicon Valley. Numbers of high-tech companies are headquartered in the town, and wherein there are a couple that made historic technological milestones. The city was first developed as a processing center for fruits such as apricots, prunes, and others. The city's economy has mainly lain in the high technology, and Santa Clara County has the third-highest GDP per capita in the world, just behind, Zurich in Switzerland and Oslo in Norway. The county's wealth was a majority from the technology industry and has marked its seat in the United States as the "most affluent county on the West Coast." Spain's historical influence is still evident in the city through its architecture, restored mission, and place-names.
