Located in the state of California, South Gate is considered to be the largest city in the county of Los Angeles. It forms part of the Gateway Cities, a region that is situated in the southeastern part of Los Angeles County. It was first known as “Azalea City” before its incorporation and has then adopted the flower to the city’s symbol. During the 1990s, South Gate was then one of the ten cities in the United States to receive All-America City by the National Civic League. South Gate’s site and its adjacent mesas were able to represent a colorful spectacle when some numerous horses and cattle were herded from all of the directions which are a common point for great annual spring rodeo.
