Located in Southern California and the northwestern part of San Diego County, Vista is characterized as a medium-sized city that is situated in the San Diego-Carlsbad Metropolitan Area. Vista is within the circle of cities that includes unincorporated portions of San Diego County. And since it is a nearby inland from the Pacific Ocean, the city was able to adapt to a Mediterranean climate. Vista was originally a part of Rancho Buena Vista and Rancho Guajome, the city was founded just after the establishment of the first post office. After the end of World War II, the agricultural economy of the city declined that was then followed by the growth of the population and the rise of housing. There are more than 25 schools and a thriving business park that is home to more than 800 companies, both national and international.
