Located in Arapahoe County, state of Colorado, Centennial forms part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area and is considered to be the tenth most populous area of the country and the city's incorporation in 2001 was said to be the largest in the whole of the United States history. Centennial has also been continuously ranked as one of the safest places in the United States. The city was characterized by its numerous hills, gullies, and its ravines. The open spaces are usually being used and visited as a recreational trail and parks. Centennial has been hosting and protecting over much native wildlife and has been a good reflection of Colorado's ecosystem in the front range. Over recent years, there was a notice in the rise of the coyote's population, which has led to educating the residents in deterring coyotes from eating the family pets.
