Bonita Springs is located in the state of Florida and s city in Lee County. The area where the present-day Bonita Springs stands was founded in the 1870s when the government surveyors that came from a remote part in the southwestern part of Florida camped nearby a medicinal spring wherein it was believed by the locals that can heal the sick. When the crews left the site where the camped was called Surveyor, and the stream that comes out of the river was Surveyor’s Creek. After a few decades, a few homesteaders moved in, however, in the latter part of the 1880s, the population in the area had doubled when Braxton B. Corner purchased 6,000 acres of land that surrounds Survey and then imported 50 families that came from Alabama with mules and equipment that can work in a large plantation.
