Located in the state of Florida, Deltona is in Volusia County and is considered to be the most populous city. It sits on the northern shore of Lake Monroe that flows along the St. John River in the central part of Florida. The city forms part of the Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach metropolitan statistical area. The city was previously called Deltona Lakas and was originally planned and established as a residential community. When the city opened its community, it grew from being a small subdivision into becoming one of the biggest cities in the central part of Florida by the end of the 20th century. The city’s growth was largely through the effort of the Mackle Brother’s worldwide marketing efforts that showcases the small maintenance homes that are offered at an affordable price.
