Doral is located in the state of Florida and a city in Miami-Dade County. The area where the present-day Doral stands were founded in the 1950s when the real estate pioneers Doris and Alfred Kaskel purchased about 2,400 acres of the swampland with the intent of building a golf course and a hotel. The Kaskel's opened a hotel and country club with golf courses. The city's name was taken after their name - Doris and Alfred. Alred Kaskel was born in Poland, who migrated to the United States in New York at 21 years old and turned into a real estate developer. After he married Doris, they moved to the southern part of the county and built the Doral Beach Hotel on Miami Beach.
