Pinellas Park is located in the state of Florida and a city in central Pinellas County. The area where the present-day Pinellas Park was the home to the northern transplants and vacationers, wherein the hundred-year-old town has grown into one of the largest cities in Pinellas County. The Philadelphia-based publisher founded the city, F.A. Davis, who purchased 12,800 acres in the Hamilton Disston's land around the 1911's. Promotional brochures were published to lure the northerners, especially the Pennsylvanians, to the city wherein it notes the area's climate in the winter and of the agreeable climate for agriculture. Pinellas Park did have a train depot in the area, although it was not on the Orange Line Railway, was razed during the 1970s along the line that is in between Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
