Located in the state of Georgia and a city in Fulton County, Johns Creek is situated in a northeastern suburb of Atlanta with a population of more than 80,000. The city was ranked third by USA Today’s list of the “50 Best Cities to Live In” in the whole United States. Johns Creek area was dotted with trading posts that lie along the Chattahoochee River in the early 19th century in what was then the Cherokee territory. At that time, the Cherokee nation was a confederacy of agrarian villages that were led by their chief. When the Europeans colonized the area, the Cherokees were able to develop an alphabet, a judiciary and legislative system which was then patterned after the American model.
