Peachtree Corners is located in the western part of the state of Georgia and suburb of Atlanta on the northeastern part of the city. It is bordered by Chattahoochee River on the north and west of the city, and on the east bu Dunwoody. The city is the only one in the whole state of Georgia that was developed as a planned community. It is noted that Peachtree Corners has no property tax, and has even earned the designation to be one of the top ten best suburb in the whole state of Georgia because of its low crime rate, quality education, low cost of living, high employment rate, access to amenities, and its overall livability. The western corner of what the present-day Gwinnett County was Creek and Cherokee Indian territory prior to 1818, and it was also noted that it is illegal for the white families to establish settlement.
