Addidon is located in the state of Illinois and a village in DuPage County and is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The present-day community of Addison was named originally as Dunkley’s Grove and was then settled after by the settler Hezekiah Dunklee, and after which it was renamed after a town in England or after a New York town, Addison. Addidon’s priority has been the preservation of history, and the village formed the Addison Historical Commission, wherein it maintains a history of the villager, which also then provides a safekeeping of the historical items and then accepts, as well, and solicits memorials.
