Located and the city capital of the state of Michigan, most of the portion of the area of the city, is part of Ingham County. Other portions extended going west into Eaton County and Clinton County going north. Lansing has been known as "Mid-Michigan" which has primarily been and an important center for governmental, cultural, educational, commercial, and industrial functions. The city is significantly diverse as one can go to a college campus to waving the wheatfield after a few minutes. Being Michigan's center of government, the majority of the residents are working for state government offices and firms. Also, the rest of the workforce will work in an automobile plant that has been producing most of the country's popular cars and trucks.
