Located in the southeastern part of the state of Minnesota and a city in Hennepin County, Bloomington is a suburb of Minneapolis and lies on the Minnesota River in the southern part of the city. The Sioux Indians lived and settled in the area even before the arrival of the colonists. The Native American was being taught by Peter and Lisa Quinn of the farming techniques. The area then became a township and named for Illinois City in 1858. The population then started to rise after the end of World War II which was then accompanied by an expansion of a well-diversified industry. One of the city’s popular attractions was the Mall of America that opened in 1992 and was considered to be the United States’ largest indoor shopping mall. Although the city’s leading industry, it also has some manufacturing that includes lawn and garden equipment, computers, refrigeration systems, and others.
