Coon Rapids is located in the state of Minnesota and the largest city in Anoka County. The Red River Ox Trail was established in the area for the military and trade connections between Minneapolis and Anoka in 1835. The first industries that were built have sprung up around the roads, and it included the notable Anoka Pressed Brick and Terra Cotta Company. The locally known “Clay Hole was a clay excavation site found within the city and is one of the few reminders of Coon Rapids’ industrial history. At present, Red River Ox Cart Trail is now known as Coon Rapids Boulevard and is the city’s crucial commercial corridor that is found in the city. The construction of the Coon Rapids Dam started in 1912 and also started the influx of laborers and engineers had increased.
