Eden Prairie is located in the southwestern part of the state of Minnesota and is considered to be the 7th largest suburb in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It is a suburb with a mixed-income economy. The city has a number of walking trails that go around Purgatory Creek and Staring Lake. Eden Prairie is situated along the northern bank of the Minnesota River, and in the upstream, that is in confluence with the Mississippi River. The city is home to more than 7,200 firms, regional and municipal parks, conservation areas and trails, and other recreational facilities. It is also the home to a number of various brands and stores, and it also contains the Eden Prairie Center and of SouthWest Transit hub that provides public transportation to the three other adjacent suburbs.
