St. Louis is located in the state of Minnesota and a city in Hennepin County and is a suburb immediately on the western part of Minneapolis. The area where the present-day St. Louis stands was a village in the 1860s that became St. Louis, which was previously known as Elmwood, wherein at present was a neighborhood that is inside the city. The name was taken after Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway that ran through the sire, and the “Park” was just added to avoid confusion with St. Louis in Missouri. The area was settled in 1892 by the lumber baron Thomas Barlow Walker and a group of wealthy industrialists who came from Minneapolis, who then incorporated the Minneapolis Land and Investment Company that was taken to focus on the development of Minneapolis.
