Paterson can be found in the state of New Jersey and is the government seat of Passaic County. In the late 19th century, Paterson has been widely known as the "Silk City" because of its primary role in the production of silk with its silk mills during its boom years. However, by the mid-20th century, Paterson has become a scene for numerous labor disputes and eventually becomes a center of diversified activities in its industrial economy. Today, manufacturers who are home to the city now include machinery, textiles, machine tools, cosmetics, packaging, and a lot more. Paterson has now become an industrial powerhouse as firearms and locomotives are now made in the city. The city has various recreational activities and systems and a thriving neighborhood.
