Keizer is located in the state of Oregon and a city in Marion County, which runs along the 45th parallel. It sits along Willamette Valley and forms part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area was named after Thomas Dove and John Brooks Keizur. They are two of the prisoners that arrived in 1843 on a Wagon Train, and later on filed donation land claims. The settlements that were originally established are located near Willamette River banks, and that the same community was then named after Thomas Dove Keizur, being one of its first settlers. However, somewhere during the translation of the donation land claim records, his name was misspelled.
