Collierville is located in the state of Tennessee and town in Shelby County and a suburb that is within the Memphis metropolitan area. The city is composed of large residential houses and a considerable number of retail expansion. There are still smaller and older houses that are found in the center of the town. Some of the industries that are still in the area are Pepsi and Carrier, which are located on the southern part of Poplar Avenue. The city was named after a businessman who purchased land and advertised it as “The Town of Collier” - Jesse R. Collier. However, the town was burned down during the “Sherman’s March to the Sea” during the American Civil War.
