Located southeast of downtown Nashville and is in the center of the state of Tennessee and the county set of Rutherford County, Murfreesboro is the home to both the center population and geographic location, and it is the state's fastest-growing major city in Tennessee and of the whole United States. During its early years, the town was primarily developed and cultivated to become an agricultural community wherein cotton, corn, and tobacco were its significant crops at the start of 1853. The city has now become a home to three colleges and few other academies. And even if education suffered during the military occupation and because of the trauma of the Civil War, it then regained its lost momentum during the early 1900s.
