Located in the state of Texas and a city in Collin County, Allen is considered to be a northern suburb of Dallas. The city’s population is estimated to be at more than 90,000, it is situated approximately 20 miles away from downtown Dallas in the north and forms part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Allen area was first inhabited and home to the Caddo, Comanche and other indigenous people. It was noted that the first immigrants from Europe and the United States were in the early part of the 1840s. With the establishment of the railroad, it allowed the sale of crops across the United States before they were rotted which caused its shift to a cattle-based agriculture suburb of Dallas. One of the notable occurrences in the town was the shooting of the first few seasons of the worldwide known and award-winning kids’ show, Barney and Friends. The show was set and shot at the Color Dynamics Studio Facility in Allen after it was moved to Irving in Texas
