Bedford is located in Texas and a city in the northeastern part of Tarrant County that is in between Dallas and Fort Worth and is also a suburb to both the following towns. The area where the present-day Bedford stands were settled in the latter part of the 1840s. The first community was established, and a community school was constructed as well by Milton Moore, who came from North Carolina in 1861 with only a dozen or more students. The settlement was then developed at the start of the 1870s after Weldon Bobo, who came from Tennessee, moved and established a general store on the site. It was Bobo and a group of farmers who decided and agreed to name their community Bedford as the county in Tennessee wherein most of them came from.
