Cedar Park is located in the state of Texas and is a major suburb of Austin, which sits in the southeastern part of Cedar Park. The area where the present-day Cedar Parks was inhabited by the Native Americans that include the Tonkawa, Lipan Apache, and the Comanche before the European settlers arrived in the 19th century. In 1983, a paleo-Archeological site was discovered in Cedar Park, and it showed evidence that there was a continual habitation of the area since 5000 B.C. The community was known as Running Brushy in the middle of the 19th century after a spring that forms the headwaters of a creek that has the same name. George and Harriet Cluck bought 329 acres of land that included Running Brushy spring, and their ranch formed the center of the community of the present-day Cedar Park.
