Houston, Texas, is home to world-class theater groups, artistic expression, a diverse culture, and over 10,000 restaurants. With more or less 145 languages spoken by its people, the city created fusion in art, food, and community compared to other cities in the United States. The city culturally diversified as less than half of its present-day residents are of European descent, about one-third are Hispanic, at about a quarter are African Americans, and a smaller, however, a significant fraction is of Asian descent. Much of the daily life happens outdoors in Houston, thanks to its year-round mild temperature, visitors and tourists can take time to explore the culture-filled, eclectic neighborhood, attractions, and gallery spaces, which offer diverse flavors. The city, today, reflects its tremendous growth after the war. Many of the older buildings are still seen but were already dwarfed by most of the modern office towers.
