Located in the state of Texas and a city in Denton County, Lewisville is a suburb that is within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It is situated in a 36.4square miles of land area and includes a few parts of Lewisville Lake. Lewisville was initially called Holford's Prairie way back in the 1840s. With the arrival of the town's first railroad, it sparked growth and development. It eventually led to the expansion of the area's transportation infrastructure that was able to spur further growth. When Lewisville Lake was completed, the city started to expand rapidly in the 1950s. The city's proximity to the lake made it an excellent recreational hub in the Metroplex and, thus, the start of the diversity of its population and industry, which in turn created a stable economic atmosphere.
