Draper is located in the state of Utah and a city in Salt Lake and Utah counties, it sits in the southern part of Salt Lake City and is along the Wasatch Front. Draper is notably part of two metropolitan areas wherein a portion in Salt Lake County is included in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, meanwhile the portion that is a part of Utah County is part of the Provo-Orem metropolitan area. There are a few notable establishments that are in the city such as the Utah State Prison. The famous execution of Gary Gilmore took place in the same on January 17, 1977. Draper also has two UTA TRAX stations and another one that is on the border with Sandy (Crescent View). The station that serves the cities in the western part of the area was the Frontrunner Commuter Station. The city has established 5 routes for its bus routes that have been connecting the nearby communities and cities.
