Taylorsville is found in the state of Utah and a city in Salt Lake County and is a part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The present-day Taylorsville area was made up of three historic communities that are located in the central part of Salt Lake County. The communities that were part of the city was incorporated through a vote of approval in 1995. Taylorsville's location is a part of the interconnected alluvial plain that was formed through wearing down the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains on the eastern and western part. The area is situated on a broad, eastern-western running ridge that was called Bennion Hill that rises to approximately a hundred and fifty feet above the surrounding area.
