Located in the state of Washington and a city in Spokane County, Spoken Valley was considered to be Spokane’s largest suburb. It is situated on the east of Spokane, west of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and has been surrounding Millwood City on the three sides of the area. The city was said to be named after the valley in the Spokane River, where it is located. Before it was incorporated, the Spokane Valley area has been and is still being to by the residents as “The Valley” in the nearby area that surrounds the city. Spokane Valley was formed because of the merger of several cities under the unincorporated census-designated places. Unlike the other places that are nearby and are part of the places that are to be considered, Millwood avoided and refused to be a part of the Spokane Valley by incorporating itself alone.
